Fountain

It may have taken about 2 months on and off of doodling in grasped spare time but at last the fountain for the autumn shot is finished... hopefully, just the remaining square to paint in, including all of the paving stones.  With luck I'll find a way of animating the water but it may not need it....

A Challenge by Oliver Janssen

Quick Christmas challenge from 'Ze German' to draw Dolph Lundgren from Rocky IV, kinda cheated by not really drawing his face but here he is...of sorts...

Compiled

Advent in full, in B+W... I prefer the white but that's expected :)

024 - Dome of The Rock

Late perhaps but I spent christmas away from a screen.

023 - Parthenon

For my mum's birthday,
In memory of her evening class in classical Greek which consisted of the following conversations

"Can you see the Parthenon?"
"I can see the Parthenon"
"Where is the Parthenon?"
Here is the Parthenon...of sorts

My favourite house.

14 - Big Ben

Slight cheat in that this is one I had drawn earlier for something else. I have in fact tried to draw this building three times before for various things and it always looks wrong. used CAD for this one with a lot of duplication and its almost working!

Also...looks a bit like a christmas tree in this view!

06 - Cathedral of Brasília

Another quick one but a homage to the insanely brilliant Brazilian modernist architect Oscar Niemayer who was responsible for much of the city of Brasília's design and who died aged 104 yesterday.

Test For Vivomtion

A basic animatic test for a new Dundee company who specialise in medical animation/ visualisation. Getting there but far from finished....

05 - Calatrava's Bac de Roda Bridge

Lack of time today = I cheated slightly by using AutoCAD to rotoscope a photo. There's something quite fun about using CAD for drawings, smooth curves and a choice of lineweight's make it speedy. So it's clean and works for the subject, be tricky to draw those lines otherwise but a bit soul-less, I'll get back to detail/ proper drawing tomorrow!

Madvent '12 01 - The Falkirk Pineapple

Advent time! I really wanted to do something based on fairytales but may do that in January instead as life us pretty busy right now so I'm doing something which is quick so back to buildings it is. Not quite worked out the line-weight or where the shadow should be but after 25 I'll get there. This is the Falkirk Pineapple which is one of my favourite, albeit mad buildings in Scotland. A folly built in the 1700s as a summerhouse I only found out the other day that it was indeed built to grow pineapples in. Brilliant.
